COVID-19 Supplement to the SLAED Indicators Report 2019-20

The 2019/20 SLAED Indicators Report will be published in December 2020 and will be the eighth annual report providing consistent data and evidence on what councils throughout Scotland are delivering as local economic development organisations. However, as the report sets out data from the 2019/20 financial year, the unique economic circumstances faced in 2020 as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic and economic crisis will not be reflected. This Covid-19 supplement therefore acknowledges the significant impact the crisis has had on local areas, as well as the critical role that local authority economic development services have played, both in terms of the initial crisis response as well as ongoing support for recovery.

SLAED Communications Plan

The SLAED Communications Plan sets out the range of ways in which members communicate, both internally and externally. SLAED provides an effective forum for representing, supporting, promoting and further developing the vital role played by local authorities as a collective in contributing to the development of Scotland’s economy. It also provides a national voice for local economic development. Collectively local authorities play an important role in providing economic leadership and acting as a key link across government (local and national), businesses and knowledge institutions.

This Communications Plan has been developed via engagement of SLAED members through a series of workshops held in late 2019, and its purpose is to enhance and formalise SLAED communications, both within the network and with external stakeholders. These include local, regional and national partners.
