Home Town Centre Infrastructure

Local government recognises the importance of Scotland's town centres and local high streets to the economic and social fabric of the nation.  We want to support practitioners to regenerate and grow these centres, particularly through challenging economic times.

Local authorities plan, develop and maintain key infrastructure for its communities. They provide and maintain infrastructure such as local roads, bridges, footpaths, water and sewerage, drainage, waste disposal and public buildings, parks and recreational facilities.

We are also responsible for regeneration projects, along with central government, local enterprise companies, housing associations, transport authorities and private sector players.
